In our test runs we have attained a least time of 1:30 seconds which is the time it takes for the leading vehicle to guide the guided vehicle from start to finish.
There were zero collisions between the leading and the guided vehicles. This due to the anti-collision system offered by the ultrasonic sensors of the guided vehicle. The vehicles maintain a minimum separation (~6 cm) always.
It was observed when commencing there are conditions for placement of the vehicles on the track that will guarantee the least boundary (1 minimum) crossing violations. These were
• The leading vehicle should be placed closer to the left black tape and aligned with it to giving the leading vehicle sufficient time to turn in the 1 st turn (see figure The Track 2.1 page 3).
• The guided vehicle should be aligned with the leading vehicle but placed between right of the center axis of the leading vehicle as shown in figure 5.1. As most of the turns on the track are right turns, placing the guided vehicle this way the will reduce the risk of the guided vehicle losing its stereoscopic perception of the leading vehicle.
